Any of the fan connections on your motherboard should be fine as long as the plug and recepticle match (DUH!!).

As for cure time, I can speak for Arctic Silver 5 only. Heat cycles are what cause the compound to cure; meaning the card is brought to operating temperature during normal use and then allowed to cool after the computer is shutdown. According to AS 5's directions (and my memory), maximum heat conduction takes 200 heat cycles.

Personally, I have noticed temps starting to drop after 15 or 20 cycles, but it takes a while to see maximum benefit.
