Question Nvidia/ATI Best for business aplications?

Hey, I've a quick question for all you intelligent people out there. My dad was thinking about upgrading his PC and I was wondering which brand (ATI/Nvidia)was better at handling business type programs such as quickbooks and maybe some photoshop and stuff. There would be no gaming involved what so ever. I have always been a Nvidia guy simply because that all I've had, so I don't know what the "other guy" can do.
Thanks.

Hey Jester,

I prefer to stick with NVidia too, but for those types of applications, would stick to the lower end of the scope. If your buying new, you can pritty much just buy the cheapest NVidia card you can find. If your buying from eBay, you can pick up a 6600 for next to nothing, but I would say that even a 6600 would be more than ample.

I choose NVIDIA also.

Just check compatability with mainboard. As no gaming will be done on this computer then no need for high specification card.

Thanks for all the advice. I was looking at either a 6200 or a 6800xt or maybe even a 7 series because there is really no huge price difference between the two series. Is the seven series a lot better?

Certainly better, but unless there's a possibility of future gaming on this PC, I wouldn't even waste even a little extra money. Keep the money for other things such as memory or CPU maybe at a later date. These things are more important than graphics when running applications such as QuickBooks or even Photoshop. The process of manipulating images in Photoshop is not done by the CPU not the GPU.
