1. Did the card ever work?

2. Can you try the card in a different slot?

3. If you have had other cards fail on you, have you checked the power supply?

D__ agrees: Power supply, good call

The card was working fine til this morning, then wouldnt boot up, only have the one slot on my motherboard and its a different motherboard that the other cards failed on, 2 of those cards had fan failures ond one was DOA

I have been down Maplins for the last 2 hours arguing with the manager who didnt want to refund me even tho its the 2nd card in a row from there thats failed so I rang my business manager to get the skinny on consumer law from him the manager backed down and gave me a free upgrade to an ATi HD2600

After you install your new card, suggest you check this out...

Open your Device Manager
click on View ... Show hidden devices

Click on and Delete (with the Delete key) any devices that have a ? or ! in front of them.
If the Device Manager has an "Other" device category, open it and Delete any devices in the "Other" category.
Now, reboot.

The reboot will force Windows to refind the deleted devices and hopefully see them for what they are.
After rebooting, give Windows time to locate and properly install the deleted devices.

Go to the Device Manager and verify that all your devices are listed correctly.
