Default would like to overclock my 8600gt, this shoudlnt take a minute!

hi
i recently got evga 8600gt gddr3 128bit 256mb.
its been doing me well, theres not a single game it cant play, and crysis on all medium still looks great.
however i think a small overclock wont kill me, id just like to get an fps boost in crysis, the difference between 25 and 30 is a lot
apparently its easy to get it to gts levels so that would be great.
i have ati tool and id just like to know what i could oc it to without buying a cooler thing.
all the current clocks are 540 and 700

all contributions welcome,
thanks

Hey Jpph,

i wouldn't recommend any OCing without proper cooling... not only does OCing overheat the **** out of equipment it also cuts the life of said product. there are not too many cards that can run crysis @ medium specs with a decent fps. my advice would be to leave it as is.

idling at 50 would mean it runs around 80 when playing crysis. over clocking might push it close to 90 or 95. that would be putting a strain on on your card. OCing is ok with the proper cooling get good cooling!

I agree with joeyfine completely.

If you are going to over clock a GPU you need to replace the cooling on this card, buy better cooling.
