After installing my old Geforce FX 5200 into a temporary PC I have, my monitor has been going black for a few seconds every so once in awhile. It seems to happen when I open a program or window... but not every time. It freezes a little then goes black and back to normal. I can't seem to find the answer to this issue!! I have reinstalled drivers MANY times, reset CMOS, reformatted, switched slots, switched monitors, switched ports... everything.
Need more data to troubleshoot...
Temp PC's specs ?
Could be card can't keep up ( made in 2003 ) --or
Some kind of hardware conflict--
one quick idea-- does the mobo have onboard video + is it disabled in BIOS ?
