Default Geforce 8800 GT Alpha Dog Edition Problem - Blue Screen

So a few days ago I brought a Geforce 8800GT 512MB Alpha Dog Edition Graphics card to replace my Geforce 8500GS.

Realising I need a PCI-E power connector I have also upgraded to a new 750W PSU.

Connected it all up today and all is running well untill I try and do somthing grahic heavy like play games ect. Both monitors will go blank as if the pc is on standby and then I recive a Blue Screen stating:

Attempt To Reset The Display Driver And Recover From Time Out Failed

*** STOP: 0X00000116 (0X85BC8510, 0XC016D80, 0X00000000, 0X00000002)

***NV¬ DDMKM - SYS - ADDRESS 8C016D80 BASE AT 8C00E000, DATASTAMP 48C08D1
When I restart the PC it loads up fine with no problems. I get a pop up stating that windows has recoverd from a serius error. I report the problem but it can only advise me to update my drivers from Nvidia.

The latest driver I installed was the Geforce Release 175 - 175.16

I have not done anything diffrent since changing the card apart from adding the new power supply.

Thank You.....

Heres what ive done:

Played Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 - Windowed Mode - No problems
Settings were on the highest, AA at 8x etc

Started Up Ship Simulator 2008 - Full Screen Mode - Crashed as I enterd an envoirment.

Company Of Heros - Full Screen - Crashed as a new game fnished loading.
The game also had the DX10 patch installed as they both game with the graphics card.

Ive tryed running things like Photoshop CS3, Media Player, Media Centre ect with no problems.

It just seems to be the games, The main monitor goes blank whilst the smaller seconed monitor shows static like lines and they I get the blue screen. Some one mentioned that it may be becuase my second monitors res is lower then the main monitor but I never had the problem on my old card. Dont know if its worth mentioning that the multipul display is set up as extended but a program or game allways shows on the main monitor. It doesnt exspand or streach over the 2 monitors.

Hope that makes sense

thank you for the info.

you can try a # of things.

1. uninstall the drivers, restart the machine. install older verison of drivers. you can get them off nvidias site.

2. run direct x 9 instead of 10.

give those a try and see what happens.

Tryed using the one that came with the graphics card - Didnt make a diffrence

Tryed the oldest driver for the 8800 Series - No diffrence

2. run direct x 9 instead of 10.

Ran the game on the lowest settings - Looked like poo crashed like poo (blue screen)

I Opened the case to make sure everything was connected correctly and well everything works, All the fans ect but the graphics card itself is hot to the touch.

Would I need to change anytihing on the Bios? Dont know if there is anything to change as ive never looked and havnt got a clue about it.
