Default Graphic card performance dropped after update?

My graphic card's performance seems to drop after i installed the new update from asus website as only its update supports my graphic card. When I started installing the new driver, 2 errors(forgotten what they were) occured while installing. So,I decided to uninstall it and install it back again. After uninstalling the driver, i went to the website to download the new driver again when the blue screen of death appeared but i installed it successfully the second time i reboot. After then,i noticed that the fps of a game i installed the day before i installed the new driver dropped, making it unable to play. Is there a problem with my graphic card or is it the game? My current graphic card is 8600gt(256mb).Oh, and i tried restoring the driver back to its original one but it failed.

To get your "Blue screens of death" evaluated, recommend you click on the blue screens of death link in my signature and follow the directions you'll find there.

I've asked a PCHF staffer to take a look at the dump.

Thanks Gandalf.

Hello vskiezv, welcome to PCHF.

Thanks for the log file, however, this particular blue screen of death you received had nothing to do with your graphics card. The problem is your is the result of a power issue from your USB 2.0 Web Camera, appears to be ASUS as well? The logs indicate that this power issue was the result of a faulty driver, so if it's ASUS, you can download the latest update for this driver will apparently resolve this issue. However, the same Blue Screen of Death can also be cause if the camera was disconnected whilst it was active, or if you have too many USB devices connected (as only 500mA of power can be supplied by your USB hub).

So you really have two issues. For your gaming issue, I really need some more information. What game are you playing? What is your frame rate before and after? And finally, can you tell us your PC spec's, by filling in the details - click on Quick Links at the top of this page, followed by Edit Options.
