ok here is a pic i found on the web. i dont have a cam to take a pic of my pc. but the image i found is exactly what it looks like.
what about the boot sequence. should the hard drive be first or cdrom? there are alot of options to choose for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd boot device. i'm not sure about that. ive never seen so many bootable options.

Hello fay,If you are wanting to use operating disk lets say to repair or recovery you would enter BIOS set first boot device to CD/DVD rom put in disk F10 save and exit and follow instructions.

If it is just normal boot options it would be hard drive first boot option.

Unhappy Re: freezing

hey its me again.
i can't boot into normal windows. it says ntldr is missing. i tried to change the boot sequence to boot from cd, so that i can do a recovery and it just hangs on the bios screen, especially if i wait too long. it seems like anything i try, it wont boot to windows.

Hello fay I do not know wixh XP you are using so I will post both links.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Download details: Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2 Utility: Setup Disks for Floppy Boot Install

You will need 6 clean formatted floppy disks. You use the 6 floppy,s before the CD.Set first boot to floppy then CD/DVD rom put in first floppy save and exit.I would number these floppy disks 1-6 so they are put in the correct order.

Then when floppy,s have been run you will be promted for the CD.

Download and save the file from Microsoft then get the floppy disks ready.Open the file and you will see a black window with white words it will prompt for first floppy then next etc just follow the instructions.

If you run into problems that the one of the floppys will not run you will have to change the floppy and restart the process of making the boot disks.

The last time I cleaned it was a couple of weeks ago or so when i started this thread.
But I just cleaned the basics....how do you clean the fans? should i use compressed air or a regular vacuum? also is there certain kinds of grease or compound that has to be used on the cpu. how much do i put on and how? ive looked at alot of vids on google and youtube about that. some say to put just a dab in the center, some say to spread it evenly and sparingly, and others say just a fine line. so which one? maybe i put it on wrong. i dont know...im so confused. i just applied it to the cpu. was i supposed to apply it to the heatsink also?

To clean my fans properly I use a natural bristle brush not man made fibers.I also vacum my computers insides.

You put only a drop of thermal paste on the CPU not the cooler or anything else and make sure it dont go anywere else.
