Hi Fay a couple of things to try 1. remove unneeded ram stick try running just 1 2. If the PC has a graphics card and also onboard graphics remove the card and just run the onboard and see if you still have the freezing issue. I have crossloop but idk if it would help it maybe a hardware problem

I tried running the avast scan at boot, and it froze again in safe mode.File C:\Documents and Settings\Fay\Desktop\backups\backup-20060419-203315-455.dll is infected by Win32:Trojan-gen
i will remove one stick and try it again. i dont have a separate graphics card, just the onboard graphics. can i remove the smallest one and use the bigger one? does it matter?

No it doesn't matter but if you still have problems try using the smaller one.

Try download the latest driver for your graphics from the link JB gave you:

http://www.sis.com/download/

Post back if that doesn't work.

This should help...

Please download OTMoveIt by Oldtimer and save it to your desktop.

Please double-click OTMoveIt.exe to run it.
Copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):

C:\Documents and Settings\Fay\Desktop\backups\backup-20060419-203315-455.dll

Return to OTMoveIt, right click on the "Paste List of Files/Folders to be moved" window and choose Paste.
Click the red Moveit! button.
Copy everything on the Results window to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy), and paste it on your next reply.
Close OTMoveIt

(If a file or folder cannot be moved immediately you may be asked to reboot the machine to finish the move process. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.)
Click the red Moveit! button.
Please "Copy" the results from the "Results" window (to the right) and then "Paste" them into your next reply on the forum.
Reboot into Normal Mode.

In your next reply please include the following:
The OTMoveIt log.

The OTMoveIt is a dead link, however I did find another one on the web called OTMoveIt2.
I ran it, but it didnt find anything. There is nothing in the results column. How do i copy file paths to the clipboard? Am I doing it right? I am working in safe mode too, as I can't use normal mode.

Also I updated the driver, but in safemode, that didn't help.
I took out the smaller RAM stick. I am using the bigger one as of now, still freezes.

Try just doing a Windows search for backup-20060419-203315-455.dll and then delete it.
