19.38 GB free on C drive
15.05 GB free on E drive
Both hard drives are 40 gig
The last thing I remember downloading was TNT Capture from giveawayoftheday.com
But I removed it and then I did system restore and went back to May 1. I was instructed to do so. I figured that would have been far enough before I started having problems.

I had to run Belarc Advisor in safe mode, so there was no info for main circuit board and system model

I cleaned it just a few days ago. There was so much dust. There was even dust on one of the RAM sticks. But I didn't use compressed air. Should I get a can of that and clean it?
Can drives be updated in safe mode?
How safe is remote desktop? I was looking into CrossLoop.

Fay try this http://www.sis.com/download/ you will have to input your data and agree license first. You can download and save insafe mode.

What make and model is your computer?

Support > Product Identification

I dont use compressed air just a pure bristle pastry brush and a vacum.

Try an online AV scan here:

PC Help Forum.com - Computer Tech Support

And post the log if it finds anything.

Also have a look with this app to see what the tempertures of your pc are:

Download SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

Memtest86.com - Memory Diagnostic

SiS Chipset Identification Online Utility (not much to go on here, sorry)

Results:
North Bridge Chipset:Not SiS
South Bridge Chipset:
Graphics Processing Unit:N/A

CategoriesDensityDeviceAvailable for Download
Graphics N/A N/A Provided by board maker
USB
Audio Not SiS Audio Device Provided by board maker
LAN Not SiS LAN Device Provided by board maker

The online AV scan couldn't finish. The computer froze at 19%, scanned 3517 files, 59 infected.
I'm a little leery about running this scan again, for fear it might freeze again. But when I ran it earlier, I had the SpeedFan open too and as the scan was going, I was watching the temp rise until it stopped at 99 and the cpu rose to 100.
Could it be one of the fans maybe?

This is like the fourth time trying to post this, cos the pc froze on the AV scan. Thats kinda why I'm leery about running it again. I wanted to go ahead and post results to you.

SpeedFan: hint window: IT8712F support was improved.
Please, have a look at CONFIG / ADVANCED and read the help file about how to configure Advanced Options.

Temp1: 48C, Temp2: 31C, Temp3: -55C, HD1: 46C, Temp1: 46C

Memtest: I opened the install.bat. It said that it would create a floppy, but I don't have a floppy drive.
I guess I can't use that one.

Fay
