Hi guys, my first time here, looks like a great forum! Anyways, I'll start off by listing my specs:

P4, 3.2 ghz (HT)
1 gb ram
Geforce 6800 GT (128 mb)
Asus p4v8x-mx motherboard
Win XP pro

I've been having a lot of problems with video game performance. I play older games such as CS: Source and GTA san andreas and these games used to run perfectly even before I got the 6800GT. I get 15 fps on CS now, when I should be around 80-90. San andreas is very slow and impossible to play.

Video card drivers are current, I've formatted my computer several times too. I even flashed BIOS to the newer version. Still no difference. The games first started being bad after I changed my motherboard (I used to have an Asus p4p800s, which blew up). I did install the drivers for the NEW motherboard. I really have no idea what to do next. I hope you guys can help me out! Thanks in advance!

what card did you have before?

I had the ancient ATI 9500 (256 mb) which ran CS at about 60 fps. Then after my Motherboard blew i originally thought the bad performance was due to the video card so i bought a 6800gt which made no difference.

take it you tried newest drivers?

Yep, did the newest drivers off the website, did not change a thing

Made sure to uninstall the ATI ones before you installed the nvidia ones?

Yep. Also formatted my computer at least 4 times since getting rid of the ATI.

Is the molex connector plugged into the video card?

Not sure what that is. What does it look like?

Something like that, it should plug into your video card

yep, just opened up the box, it is connected. Could it possibly be a software issue where the hardware is limited by a setting? I tried toggling the sliders in the Nvidia control panel but it helped very little.
