I have no idea why it happened or how long it's been like this (since the fan was located under the card), but thought I'd share this with you all.

Yes and not only that, I've removed the fan and guess what, it's re-installed and running like a dream, haha !!!!

Lol... mine was running at about 100 degrees and started to smell a bit funny.... at this point i decided to remove it and take it back to shop... it was still warm when i gave it to the bloke in the shop

Although looking closer at the fan which I've just torn apart, I think the majority of the melted parts are in fact plastic, so I doubt it reached that high in reality.

Imagine the money I could have sued Sapphire for though!
