Hmmmm. I think some diagnostics on your system might be needed to see if there is other hardware errors occuring. Download and run orthos Download Stress Prime 2004 BETA and run the blend test this will test both cpu and ram.It will load the cpu at 100% . See if it falls over if it does then you could have a failing cpu. Have a look at how much your paging/swap file this will be under task manager/ performance . Is your hard drive defragged?

How long should I run the test for?

Hl2.exe is Half life 2, are there any others below it that are using a lot of resources?

Looks like cpu and ram is ok

what about the page file when its running and is the hard drive fragmented. If you come out of the game after an hour and then restart it do you get the problems soon after or would it take another hour and half?

I'm not clear as to what the page file is I could use some help on identifying this. Hard drive is defragmented. Its one of the first things I did because I was pretty sure at first that it might be the problem. As for exiting the game...if I exit the game and start playing again it does happen soon after not a half hour to an hour and a half later.

in windows mode with the game running press ctrl alt and delete . Task manager opens. Click performance. Virtual memory is the there. play the game for a whiel and see how high it gets. Ok here we go! While idle the paged memory was at about 47,000 with the CPU temp at about 35C. While running Team Fortress 2 the paged memory was at about 90,000 with the CPU temp at about 42C. Something that I noticed while doing this was the the CPU usage was at 100% during gameplay. Is this normal?
