This one seems a good one> BFG - 550-Watt ATX CPU Power Supply - BFGR550WGSPSU

Its Sli and Crossfire ready, so if it can handle 2 graphics cards then just running one in your system should be no problem

As for fitting it, its a pretty simple job, the connectors only fit in on specific place so you can figure out where they go, what i did the first time i ever changed a Power Supply Unit was to take a photo of the old one in place and where all the cables went, then i just referred to the pic when i connected up the new one

Awesome thanks for the help you guys. I'll get the new power supply, and install it. After its all said and done I'll let you all know how it went, and if the freezing is still occurring. Thanks again!!!

easypeasy really if you get a modular Power Supply Unit that is, but if you are not confident get an pro to do it, check out the expertvillage channel on youtube for video tutorial and stuff, but like i sed if you aint confident, better safe than sorry.

Ok I picked up a Thermaltake 550W Power Supply Unit (model #W0134: TR2), and got it all installed. After about a half hour of playing Team Fortress 2 it started with the same problem again...So we've eliminated the power supply as a potential problem, and we've figured out its not a temp problem...So any other ideas other then go get it fixed at Geek Squad or something?

what driver are you running? if its not the newest try updating if it is try an older driver.

If its 169.25 its dated December there is a beta 174.74 and a none certified 174.70 gold out in the wild

I checked Nvidia's site and according to them I have the most recent drivers for the 8800GT which is 169.21. Is there a place where I can get the ones you mentioned? I run XP SP2 as my OS not Vista.

ForceWare 174.74 XP (32-bit) WHQL download from Guru3D.com 174.74 may not work

ForceWare 174.20 XP (32-bit) download from Guru3D.com 174.20

use at own risk though but if you do have problems you will be able to uninstall in safe mode.

Is there a way you can run your games in a window instead of full screen and run the process viewer to see if something is kicking in hogging cycles
