So I recently purchased a pretty beef laptop. T7500 2 gigs of ram 8400gs 250gb HD


When i first got it i was able to play Counter-Strike 1.6 with max fps at 99

Now i cant get my fps past around 60 and it is getting sooooo lagy its not even playable.
Vsync is set to off... i dont know what the deal is, any ideas?

Hm.. Well the 8400GS isn't that great of a performer, it's on the low end and meant more for multimedia payback, you should check what processes you have running, you might have a random resource hog that's eating up your resources.

first off its counter-strike 1.6 and its like 8 years old, secondly ive had it working perfectly before, i should have no problem with it.

As far as resources.... i've done that already and everything looks good.

im no novice at all when it comes to computers and in the past when this happened on my desktops i would reformat and all was good.... but now i have a laptop and i rather not do that.

Tried re-installing drivers? Cleaning out dust?

Scanning for viruses/spyware? Disabling processes?
