Default [Resolved] Major issue with HD2400

Well I wanted to have a video card so that I got some S-video support and could play some older PC games. When I evaluated my PC specs I went for the RADEON HD2400 and I thought I could run it well. It seems like I have gotten a good amount of issues that weren't there before. My monitor is the stock compaq flat screen CRT and I thought that was the issue but it seems that my AMD sempron is struggling a bit too(although I'm not sure if that is the issue). These are the major issues that I found so far.

Laggy scrolling
When watching video's the quality is worse than before the video card installation
CPU usage is much higher than normal and creates some lag(especially with the internet)
Some other minor issues influenced by the bigger ones

Is there some settings I need to turn down or something? I have always run 1024x768 with no problem and now I am getting some crappy issues. At this point, I am not sure if it is my sempron(which WAS in the vid cards compatibility list) or if it is my monitory. Please help because this issue is way annoying and I don't even wanna know how its gonna be if I try to play some PC games -___-.

PS: My case is the stock compaq presario SR1303WM case and PSU is an NZXT 500 Watt Power Supply

Hi B-Dawk, welcome to the site!

Have you installed the latest drivers for your video card?

Also, it may not be the cause of the problem but a CPU upgrade would be worthwhile, seems that processor might be the bottleneck with that card. Not entirely sure though. If it was in the compatibility list, then I don't see why there would be a problem.

Hey, thanks for the welcome!

Well I went to the windows update drivers thing and I restarted the computer and all those problems were fixed.......but now I cannot display any video -__-. I have all the proper codecs but it seems that my something is interfering with it. I am not sure if it is my video card or not.

I already have ATI catalyst from the CD though. Is there a new version out?
