Graphics - [Answered] Which graphics card is better? posted in the Hardware forums; Was wondering if any one could help me? My girlfriend has got a pc with a intel R 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV graphics card , which doesn't seem much good at doing anything!! ...

Smile [Answered] Which graphics card is better?

Was wondering if any one could help me? My girlfriend has got a pc with a intel R 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV graphics card, which doesn't seem much good at doing anything!! I have a riva m64/32mb card and weas wondering if i bothered to fit this card and disable the other would it run better?

Heya Vesplee Welcome to PCHF

It all depends on what you're trying to do.

If you're not doing gaming there really isn't a reason to mess with it. If you plan on playing some higher end 3d games, that Riva card isn't going to help you either.

Even if the Riva card is any better than the onboard graphics, it isn't going to be much better anyways. I honestly wouldn't bother. If you want some better graphics, you'd be better off spending a few bucks and getting a new card altogether.

The card you choose to throw in there is going to depend on what you're trying to do with the computer.
