So what did they say?

well i demonstrated the noise to them, it also occurs in crysis, especialy in the pre-game splashscreens and they heard it, anyway they tried different graphics cards and the sound was only present with the 8800 ultra in the pc. They thought it was the fan aswell but then i reinforced what i had said all along that it is an electrical noise, he stopped the fan and still noise, so he said well keep it for a couple of days and its still there and hopefully they will sort it out, but i suspect the graphics card will have to be sent to xfx, who will probably just send it back saying that nothing is wrong, apperently they like to do that, what i would like to do is get them to swap the ultra for some 8800 gts(g92) for sli, but i doubt they will , 2 sli'ed gts' will be kick **s for like the same money an ultra costs, anyway il report back when i get the pc back, but i kinda think its something to do with the graphics card power consumption, possibly the mobo or psu, thanks!

ok, got the pc back but they said that it is the graphics card definately, but they didnt try it in another system so it could be that the problem is linked with the graphics card and another component, but anyway they said that xfx would just send it back and that there was nothing they could do. So i guess il have to sell the 8800 ultra real cheap, and then get the 8800 gts in sli that i want, but i would still appreciate any more insight into what is wrong. thanks

Im sorry but i really am stumped by this one. It could be a bad capacitor i guess, but ive never come across a problem as stubborn as this one before Lol

RESULT, i got a 8800 gts, tried it on the pci e slot and it made the same noise, then i tried it on a different slot and no noise, anyone explain this?
