Default Graphics glitch or shot card?

My system specs are as follows:
Windows XP home
P4 2.53ghz
1gb ram
128 mb Radeon 9700 Pro
I think thats all that could pertain to my problem.

I have had this system for a long time (about 4-5 years). I has been really good and I have never had a problem, until yesterday. I am about half way through a herioc dungeon in WoW when sh*t hit the fan. My graphics were completely messed up but i could still play fine, it wasnt choppy or anything i just had huge graphic spikes everywhere not allowing me to see anything. So I rebooted my system and everything seemed fine again but sure enough 2 mins into playing it started again. So I thought i would take a look, installed the newest drivers, checked to see if my fan was still running, it was. I also have 5 case fans so it is relatively cool in there. Now this graphic glitch is invading my windows, its not as bad as it was in WoW, its a little different but its still there. I attached a pic of my desktop to show you exactly what i mean. I also went into my CCC and tested my direct draw and direct 3d and there is no problem. It doesnt seem to slow my PC down at all, I can still play all the games and do everything I did before, so I really have no idea what it could be.

Any comments would be nice, thanks.

Hi there and welcome to PC Help Forum

I have a feeling that your brilliant (I used to have one) 9700pro card may well be on its way to silicon heaven. As you have managed to cover most of the angles, the acid test would be to run the card in another PC. Is that something that you can do?
