Default Visual Initialization failure

I am using an Geforce4 MX 5200 ultra graphics card, based on it's designation it is quite outdated. I have been experiencing visual initialization failure for a couple of times, dating back to 2 years ago - when i first got my hands on it. My question here would entail me asking, would the heatsink and fan of the graphics cards cause my display to hang in it's track during intense graphical processing period? It is because i have posted threads in this forum, querying why does my computer still hangs after i have test my ram, power supply and peripherals. Base on my conjecture, would a faulty fan or heatsink cause my computer to fail in producing an image during power-on and normal operation? hope someone could enlighten me thank you.

Hi Yes it could for sure or the RAM on the graphics card could be faulty or as you mention fan or heat related could be a problem if it gets to hot

If the fan is spinning on the graphics card and the heat sink is attached it sould be ok(not heat related) the thing is that the graphic card may have a problem with is it's onboard memory this maybe faulty causing it to freeze.

May i know whether is there any software, that could at least provide a prognosis of the graphics card. This would include indication of hardware specifications, and whether the components are operating within/outside their thresholds. This would be of a great help, would you mind recommending me some.

I've always had a spare card for testing. Do you have another one you can try?
