can you put 2 sli card as long as there are the same together? i repair furniture not pc have tryed to read up but im confused by it all, and what happened to crossfire ?


im on a budget for the card/s £130 tops

im getting a AmD 939 x2 4800
and 4 gig or ram
running on a Gigabyte K8 Triton N force 4 board ( Im running a ati x800 16 pipes can this board run crossfore?)

i have 2 WD rapter drives striped together if that matters ( Nosey little **** )

What OS are you running? 4Gbs is largely overkill for the moment, and if you're on a 32bit OS then you're not even utilizing all 4Gbs.

Not exactly sure why you want to run SLI, it's really only meant to give significant performance increases for people who run at very high resolutions above 1980x1024.

Although if you do want to run SLI you have to know that only PCI-express cards support it, and they have to be a matching pair. For Crossfire though it's slightly different as you need a Crossfire branded card to be the primary card, and then a matching card for the secondary.

As for raptor drives, I've never really seen any sort of significant performance increase unless you have a lot of read/writes every second, and those massive amounts of read/writes generally only happen if you're running a highly accessed web server

dam that told me. yer i get what you are saying bud and no im not runing at High rez, i should have real asked what card can i get the will run cryses well.

Pick up an 8800GT, just one, and it'll run Crysis fairly well whether on DX9 or DX10 and they're fairly cheap
