Default [Answered] Buying a new video card..

My motherboard supports the DDR RAM type and I'm wondering if this also applies to a video card's memory. I am looking for a good AGP Card (sadly, my mobo doesn't have pci-e slots) and most of them have GDDR2. Will my motherboard support GDDR2 cards as well, or does it have to be strictly DDR? Thanks.

You have nothing to worry about. Video Memory has no correlation to Main system memory at all. GDDR4 would work with it if they had AGP cards with it. No problem. GDDR2 will work fine.

Any recommendations on a Directx10 card less than $120 that'll fit into an AGP Slot? Thanks

Im sorry, they dont sell AGP Cards with DX10 support. They have some good Geforce 7xxx series (DX9) cards though

There were a few ATI ones I found that did...but they got pretty awful reviews and most people say there is little to no driver support for them. Think I'll go with a geforce 7600. Thanks.
