Question Graphics Card Update Question

I was told that if I was to purchase a newer graphics card, the EVGA Geforce FX5200 to be more specific, that it will not run in an old AGP slot because of computability issues. I was wondering if this was true or not? I current have a Sony Vaio PCV-RX550. If there is any other information that I can give you to help you, just ask.

Default Re: Graphics Card Update Question

No, it should be fine.

Your computer ha an AGP 4x slot and the card is 8x. It should be compatible it will just run at the speed your motherboard can handle (4x) instead of the full 8x.
