Default [Answered] Dvi??

Hello, my 8800 Ultra came with a male dvi connector which i put on my monitors vga cable to enable it to work with the computer. The Samsung LCD monitor has a DVI port. my 8800 Ultra has been giving me very poor performance and i was wondering if getting a Dvi cable to go straight from the Card to the monitor's DVI port would sort the low frames out. I suggested to the pc shop that i may buy one and they said it would sort it out, but quiet frankly i dont think they know what they are talking about and are probibly just trying to get me to spend more money. Anyway could you please tell me if this will sort my low frames out before i go n waste more money. Thanks

Hmmmm, I would like to talk to this guy about how he has come to the conclusion that a DVI cable would produce a faster frame rate that D-Sub. It has nothing to do with the cable. The DVI cable is all about quality not speed. It's down to your graphics card (and in part, the rest of your system) what frame rate is produced. It's nice to have DVI (some monitors you will notice more of a difference than others. Mine was not even noticable.)!

If your 8800 is giving you poor performance, then it could be a hardware problem.
