Default [Answered] Graphics Card Suggestion

hi everyone,

Got a mate with a slimline PC and wants to upgrade the graphics. Has a pci-e socket I believe but it will only fit a low profile graphics card.

Computer model: HP s7750uk slimline PC

Can anyone suggest a suitable graphics card under 100 pounds and in a UK shop?

I have found two cards:

This 7600gs which I cant find a site to buy from in the UK, so might not be able to get this one.
Leadtek - We make dreams a reality

Also a x1650 which is low profile:
Kikatek.com | (CGAX-1656A) Club 3D Radeon X1650 Low Profile 256MB PCI-Express DVI/TV Graphics Card
At the bottom it has a low profile kit to convert the bracket.

Can someone confirm it is compatible with the s7750.uk and will fit in. Or if you have any other suggestions post them.

Also is the 7600 or the x1650 better?

Aye ups, both of the will work. You know me, I'll always go for NVidia for quality, although the data rates on the ATI are a little better.

The only thing you'll need to consider is that both cards (even though they are low profile), they are not designed to fit in a Small Form Factor case. Some cards will come with an alternative plate which you can swap with. I've not been able to find anywhere (yet) where you can buy them seperately. You could always do what I did.. cut the end of the plate off and then bend the last 11mm down!!

Thats cheating

I did think about that but forgot to say, i found a few different kits and there is one at the bottom of that page to convert the bracket.

Thanks
