ram effect my graphics so drastically, i only have 1 gig of ddr 400 ramms .. i almost have to reboot after a few levels to clear it
Yes it is the second factor in those high
ram games. What happens is your
ram get's used up then Windows takes allot of your page file (which is much slower) that is why you have to "reboot to clear it out.
The best way to tell if you need more
ram is to play the game for about 5 minutes and exit out. If it takes awhile to exit and your icons are still huge and your pc seems very slow that would mean it is time to get some more
ram.
Aslo if your running Vista and only have one gig of
ram your really dangourlsy low on
ram as it is..
If a game takes lets say 512 megs of
ram to run, remember windows takes
ram as well. Vista takes around (Basic) 300 to 400 megs of
ram so that right there will leave you with onlt page file and gpu memory which gets eaten up fast
