Unfinished Threads - 128 mb agp in 1.1ghz processor??? posted in the Community forums; hey guys i got an old pc... its processor is intel celeron 1.1GHz , RAM 512mb and motherboard ASUS TUSL2-C its current agp card is nVidia Geforce MX 440 ... ...

hey guys i got an old pc...
its processor is intel celeron 1.1GHz, RAM 512mb and motherboard ASUS TUSL2-C

its current agp card is nVidia Geforce MX 440... 64 mb 8X... though the motherboard is 4X.. this agp card is backward compatible (i think)... its workin well

i was wonderin if i can install an agp card of 128 mb...
will it be supported by the processor and motherboard???
help needed... urgent!!!

Hi and welcome to PCHF!

I am no graphics expert but after some googling I found this: WikiAnswers - Will an 8x AGP video card work in a 4x AGP slot

Take a look at the last Answer on the page. Depending on the card, you might encounter some problems.

but my main concern isn't with whether 8X card will work in 4x motherboard...
my question is that will a 128MB agp card run in Intel Celeron 1.1 GHz processor with ASUS TUSL2-C motherboard?

plz guys, answer this specific question...

yes. that is no problem. the amount of VRAM is not affected or affects in any way teh processor and motherboard.

i'm tryin nVidia GeForce FX 5200 128 MB in the PC 'n its workin just fine
