Default 2 graphics card questions

hi ive bin saving up £400 for a new graphics card(s) and i dident no which to get a geforce 8800gtx or 2 8800gts in sli? or would it be better to get a 8800gts and a ageia physX card?

also with my current set up i have Dual 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8600 GTS - SLI Enabled but when i went onto systemrequirementslab.com and tested for medieval 2: total war and it said this Video RAM: Required - 256 MB , You have - 246.0 MB
but i thought because i had dual 256mb it would be doubeld to 512mb?
thanks woobla

Hi woobla I would have thought it would have been 512MB to. I think this "8800gts and a ageia physX card" would be the better setup but I'm not a Madgamer

the physx cards will result in a more "realistic" game but lower frame rates, i would go the 8800gtx 640mb card, then later down the track maybe get another gtx or add the physx card, but rite now you can get 2 8800gt's cheap, run em in SLI and blow the GTX outta the water. goodluck with the purchase. oh yeh, it pays to shop around.
