Default [Pending] No Signal from Video Card

Howdy folks,

Just yesterday I purchased a brand new SATA-300, 320GB Hard drive with a brand new PC case with nice big 200mm fans, cool blue lighting and sleek black chassis. I get home all excited to transfer all the goodies from my old case to my new case. I've done this many times before and enjoy doing it so I began to transfer everything over with no problem at all.

Now. It is time to test it out.

I plug my monitor into my video card DVI socket, power it up and to my suprise the monitor displays the message "No Signal". So, I then swap the DVI with VGA (my monitor as both) and the same "No Signal" message floats around the black screen. I then swap it with an entire different monitor and the issue still occurs!

I checked the fan on the Video Card to see if it is getting power and the fan is spinning. I tried to find where the cases speaker will plug into my motherboard, but its a different adapter then my older cases speaker and I can't find where to plug it in so I can listen to the beep code.

I'm starting to worry I might of damaged the video card with electric shock while I was transfering it to its new case, but I'd hate to have to buy a new one when this one might have a chance to be up and working again or if it is the motherboard that is at fault. Everything seems to be getting power, but I wouldn't rule out the Power Supply completly.

The card is a Radeon 1600, 512MB, PCI Express. Unfortunetly, I don't have another video card to test it out.

If anyone has any tips, advice or a possible solution I would be in your debt!

Thanks!

First, with the power off, reseat your video card.

Second, you didn't indicate what version of Windows you have installed and since you didn't say anything about loading the video card driver, suggest for drivers, checkout this site - http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/radeonx-xp.html

I'm sorry for not being more clear about my situation! I should of added that my SATA hard drive is the only hard drive in my system as of now. It's fresh and has no Operating System installed on it.

I've reseated my card multiple times and no go. I've tried just running the basics (motherboard, power supply, video card, RAM, CPU) in hope to get the monitor to display something so I can see a POST and a error message but I still get no signal from my video card to my monitor. My motherboard has no onboard VGA so I can't test it out that way.

If you need any more information please ask.

Thanks.

1. What version of Windows do you intend on installing?
2. I assume you have a CD or DVD drive. Yes?
3. Can you connect your monitor into your motherboard fantail instead of into the video card? Without Windows being installed, I do not know if your motherboard can display BIOS data via the video card.

1. I will be installing Windows XP SP2.

2. Yes, I have a CD-ROM drive.

3. I'm afraid the only way I can plug my monitor into my motherboard is through the video card. It has no on-board video or the like.

Thanks!

P.S. "Klaatu.. Barada.. Nimhmhmmmhm!"

Can you access your BIOS?
That should be by pressing the Delete key during bootup.
If you can enter BIOS, make sure that the CD drive is the first boot drive.

If you can access the BIOS, then you know your video card is working.
