hi there... not sure if this should be posted here, so apologies if it is... but my problem is that on login to my laptop (XP SP2), the contrast auto dims (its not fully gone, u can still see some things but its at around 10% brightness if not lower) after a random time. at first i thought it was my screen messed up, but i am able (sometimes) to use the laptop, on doin so i ran virus check, adaware and all that business... and still the problem persists...

so any ideas, would be majorly helpful?

2) When this occurs...on battery or power or both
