Graphics - [Fixed] asus N6600 driver problems posted in the Hardware forums; hey everybody im having a weird problem that i shouldnt be having...im updating my drivers for my geforce N6600 and all i get is a black screen...i tried the drivers ...

Angry [Fixed] asus N6600 driver problems

hey everybody

im having a weird problem that i shouldnt be having...im updating my drivers for my geforce N6600 and all i get is a black screen...i tried the drivers for the geforce 6 series on Nvidia.com and tried the one for N6600 on asus.com and now im getting fed up of this s**t i know it seems like a dumb post (and im also studying to be a PC tech so i should know how to do it) but it just doesnt wanna work...anybody got a sugestion??

Did you unistall the old software first some require you to do that before installing the new one

whenever i get new drivers i just install them and it updates the old ones, so i dont think this is the cause, but since this is happening, now is probably the time to try doing that, also if it keeps happening you might want to try updating all your other drivers first incase of compatibility issues with other drivers, or try the old drivers for the card incase you accidentally introduced some instability

I used to do the same as you untill I read this at the nvida website

Before installing new drivers make sure you uninstall all NVIDIA display drivers from the Windows Control Panel. Browse to the Start Menu > Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and search for "NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers" or "NVIDIA Display Drivers" and select remove.

REALLY? i have never had problems with my Nvidia drivers doing it this way for YEARS, the ones i have problems with are my sound drivers, but thats another story.
