Default [Pending] Question about GPU fan...

I have a few quick questions about the fan on my Diamond ATI Radeon X1950PRO 512 MB AGP card...

I fixed my overheating problems by simply setting my card's fan to 100% with ATI Tool...

BUT, will this damage or wear out the fan faster if I leave it at 100% the whole time?

Are there replacement fans for my video card?

Any hardware run at 100% will wear out sooner than if it is run less frequently.
I do not personally know this particular card. If the fan casing can be either removed or opened, then I would think the fan is replaceable. The documetation that came with the card should indicate any replacement part number.

hte answer is yes. especially with mechanical parts. the bearings in hdds and fans are only made to spin so many times. if it is made for about 5 million revolutions (just an ex. real life is much higher) and you run it at 1000 rpm, it will take longer to wear out than if you run it at 3000 rpm.

Do you require additional assistance with this problem?
