Default PC to TV - Flickering and buzzing.

Hi
I just connected my pc to my 50" widescreen tv using a nvidia 7300gs graphics card and configured settings to suit my tv. I have an svhs cable and an audio cable connected to a scart socket which is plugged into the tv. The problem is that the screen is constantly flickering and isnt very sharp, infact font is barely readable. Also there is a buzzing sound coming from the speakers, although the picture quality is perfect when watching videos.

If someone could help me to fix these problems that would by highly appreciated.

Thanks

If its a 854 x 480 plasma the text will never be readable beacause the resolution is too low and video will be clearer then than a pc monitor because its screen is optimized for lower resolutions (thats how it sound to me) .please give further info on your tv so you can get more help.
Also , is the sound coming from tour 3.5 jack directly to an rca or do you have any adaptors?
Hope i've helped . if you give me the info i told you i'll be able to help you more

My television is a thompson scenium 50DSZ645 DLP. The resolution is 1280 x 768. The sound is coming from a 3.5 jack to 2rca which is plugged into a scart adapter.

No 1280 x 800.

I just tried setting it to 1280 x 768 after reading your reply and it is still flickering, blurry and buzzing.

If i dont touch the mouse for about 10 seconds the flickering calms down and the text seems clearer.
