Default Driver issue?

Iv just tried to install the new catalyst 7.5 but i keep getting a msg saying "INF file could not be found"? plus my pc freezes alot...sometimes after clicking a link on the internet or playin games...any ideas? thanksss

While not 100% true-- 98% of the time-- if you install a new driver, and something stops working... the best thing to do is UNinstall it and try again.
This is especially true of Video card drivers. One of the top "issues" on any PC... is corrupted video drivers. Bad download/bad install/antivirus interference/power flux at wrong moment...those are big installs that run very deep into the operating-system's code-- by necessity. You can't run Windows if you can't see them.

Also with some of the you have to unistall the original driver and then install the updated one. Is the PC virus free?

yeh the pc is virus free... iv tried reinstallin and gettin rid of the original driver.... maybe ati screwed up? not like them....

Any file can be damaged by the download process
any installer can have an error during the install process

re-download the driver package

uninstall the driver you have now

re-boot...this will load a very basic driver from XP--icons will be huge/resolution low.

reinstall the drivers from the new downloaded copy
it would not hurt to disable your Antivirus during the install-- they can interfere with the install process.

reboot again
