I have a widescreen monitor and the screen resulution is correctly set to widescreen format. But when watching videos there is always black borders at the sides, so obviously video settings are set to normal rather than widescreen. How do I correct this? I tried going into the control panel of my graphics card but could only see options for colour settings etc. If someone could help me out that would by highly appreciated.

I am running windows xp and my graphics card is the nvidia 7300gs.
