Default [Resolved] Card Review Thread!

Hi all PCHF users i was thinking we should start a card reveiw thread, so us PCHF members can reveiw our cards or other cards and supply other users withhelpfull information on choosing the card they want.

Ill start

XFX GeForce 6200a

Price= £40

Hi there i was debating about a video card, i wanted a small, silent and a card with enough to run near enough any game on Medium to High settings. so i bought the XFX GeForce 6200a
256mb version.

Ive been reading alot of reviews about this card, some like it some dont, all i can say is its brilliant.

In pictures the colour is different to the one i have, the metal bit (Bracket?) that shows on the outside of the computer is a dark black metalic on mine, very simalar to my PC case colour, the card itself is very very dark blue/black, with a black heatsink.

I have 3.33ghz Celeron D 356
1024mb 533mhz RAM
The XFX GeForce 6200a

I can run just cause with everything on high at around 30-40 FPS
I can run FEAR with everything maximum and 1 or 2 things at medium at 30-50 FPS
Half life 2 With everything high HDR on and AA 4x at around 30-50FPS

Every game ive played have always hung around the 40fps mark, they never fall down below 30.

Picture quality is excellent, Video playback is flawless and the graphics card is silent and stays cool.

On 80% of the games i have (All of which are relativly Medium-High end) i can have 4x anti aliasing on without effecting my performance

Pros-

+256MB VRAM
+Great value
+Good performance for the price
+Easy to install
+Silent
+Good for games
+Great video playback
+RoHs compliant

Cons-

-Having shadows on Very high or Ultra high can affect perfomance quite a bit, however having shadows on medium or high will be ok

-Not very good at High High resolutions, If you are playing games stick around the 1024x768 mark

-Not DX10

Good idea, you're in the right folder.
You might put the name of your card on the title line.

Out of interest does anyone have an 7900 and an 8600 or used a system with an 8600 and how do they compare?
