Ok i mean even 30 FPS is playable, you see i would buy a new motherboard, but i would have to buy new RAM and a new CPU ontop of buying a new graphics card. Thats pci-e.

But i wouldnt feel safe mucking about with my new pc,i dont feel confident enoguh to change the motherboard etc. I mean i can install anything on a pc no problem, what gets me is all the cables going to the motherboard, and if i do something wrong im screwed.

By "The cables i mean all the cables going to the front of the pc and what not, theres like 5 small cables all connecting to this one rectangle, i think its the FDD?

I found this motherboard.

Foxconn P9657AA-8EKRS2H Socket 775

It is exactly the same shape and size as my current motherboard and my processor will fit into it!

So should i buy this motherboard and buy a pci-e or stick with my current motherboard?

My budget is around £160.

GTG college ill be back later

Hey dude,

I can't decide for you, weigh up how much you can afford, with what you can get. If you really want it, then prehaps it may be worth waiting for a few months until you have enough money. With that said, you can still buy a lot with £160. That Foxconn motherboard is a good board for only £65, and should accept both your CPU and DDR2 memory. Also, that board is so similar to your current board, that you could probably get away without the need to re-install Windows as well, and still enough left over for a decent enough card, for example: XFX GeForce 8600GTS 256MB DDR3 PCIE Dual DVI 540/1.4 (PV-T84J-UDF3).

That would be very handy if it took my RAM, i know for sure it will take my CPU, but the "Reinstall windows" got me bad, you see when i bought my pc i did not get a windows xp disc as such, i got a recovery software.

And i just relized the current motherboard i have is a Micro ATX (mATX) How can i tell if my case is big enough for an ATX?

And that card is very nice. Thanks.

Ah.. I missed that one too.

What about this one, even looks a little cheaper: FOXCONN LGA775 MATX P4M9007MB FSB1066 DDR2 PCI-E SATA All-In-One-Place

Ok there is no space verticly (But i think all Motherboards are 9.6 inches high anyway.)

But the is space horrizontally, shows my very bad drawing.

But do you think i will have to reinstall windows again? because i dont have a windows OS disc only a recovery software, that makes a backup DVD.

But anyway this motherboard seems exactly the same, do i really have to reinstall windows.

The motherboard is the same manufacturer, same form (mATX) , same socket except one is a pci-e and one is an agp 8x.

My 2 cents..

I think the all around best AGP card will always be the ATI 9800pro All in Wonder. As well it does everything

Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100171L Radeon X1950PRO 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X HDCP Video Card -
Retail Will play most newer games and get some good FPS

Pros: Runs FEAR, OBLIVION, Far Cry, and any shader model 3 game there is at max quality. My max frames for fear is 186, and I am pretty sure thats cpu limited because the max frame rate is 186 fore every resolution.

Cons: Big card for a micro atx case? cannot really find anything bad about it yet..
All-in-Wonder® 9800 PRO

Cant seem to find the 256 meg version? With the 256 bit
