Sorry ColdPhire...I don't get to be here as much as I'd like to be...school and all.

If your card ramps up while in a game...could it be that when you switch to your desktop to check your control center that it's throttling down again (due to minimizing the game?)

is there a way you can have your stats dumped to a log so that you can check them AFTER you've played the game?

double_a_ron you hit the nail on the head with that last remark.

that is exactly what the catalyst control center does,

I have Radeon X1950XT
when you run a 3d app the clock does go up to the requested rates, but when you minimize it it goes back down to 2d.

i havnt come across a way to test this but my main way of noticing it is the fan speed on the GPU.

when doing anything in 2d mode the speed of the fan stays constant, but when i load a 3dapp, after a while the fan speed picks up which is easily noticable, that should be your first givaway that your core speed / memory clock has increased.
