Exclamation Graphics card effecting computers quality?

Roughly four weeks ago, my computer spontaniously slowed down to the point of being useless, for a bout a week I worked on myself, uninstalling games and programs I didn't use, and scanning multiple times both in safemode, and regular windows.

I was using adobe photoshop elemets .2 when it started.

Finally after calling my mother for help we decided taking the computer to her house to mess with with the best thing. its been about 3 weeks now since I took it to her place. Just today I found a possible solution (we'd find a trouble spot and the computer would work, then we'd restart it and it'd go back to being slow).

Apparently it was my graphics card, I've had my graphics card over a year and has yet to give me problems.

Heres how it happened, my mom was working on both computers, trying to make her monitor work, when she left, I went back to check on my computer only find out my monitor was not working, Needless to say, I panicked. I found mom had plugged it in the wrong socket, though when i placed it into the graphics cards socket, it would work, then stop working in the midest of startup. The screen would go blank.

So unable to access anything in safe mode and monitor wouldn't stay on long enough to do anything in regular mode, I took apart my computer and manually removed the card, then plugged it back in (after realizing I didn't have the original slot to keep the computer seealed)

Wala the monitor works and my computer is faster! I can surf the net, chat, draw, and play music, however when I tried to play an MMOG the graphics were shoddy and the game slow. I imagine allot of games of mine will be affected.

HELP!!! Do reinstall the graphics card? Should I get a new one, or do I need more ram?
My memory is fine, I have 59.9G used and 83.9G of free space left.

Howdy Hannah-Banana and welcome to PC Help Forum

What type of video card do you have? Also how much Ram do you have? These can be factors that impact gaming as if you do not have enough ram it takes longer to access the files needed etc. If you have a lower end video card it will also effect the frame rate of alot of games..

Let us know what you have so we can go from there.
