Default [Resolved] Albatron 7600Gs - Power Errors

My Albatron 7600GS 256Mb AGP 8X is giving power errors.
The card has been tested on multiple systems with no problems, have tried 5 new motherboards. 500Wt power supply, one was a true power. Have tried it on other systems with the same power problems and no problems, have tried using 3 different HDD's. CPU has been replaced twice, motherboard 5 times, power supply 3 times.
The molex is plugged in, and the power problem is intermittent, can leave it running over night with no problems. Ran 3dmark, BIT, toast last night and had no problems. Ran 3dmark today for about 10 seconds and got 10 copies of the error.
Running prime95,bit at the moment and no problems..

Anyone know anything??

Hey Souluna,

Welcome back, I am so terribly sorry about the delay in replying to your thread.

Can you please give us the exact error message you are getting, and if it is always the same or if you get variations.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

its the Nvidia Sentinel error. Just a Nvidia control box saying its low on power and it is going to redue its performance. it gives about 240copies of this error (all the OS can support) if you close them all they will have all reopened by the time you get to the last one. See attached picture. http://qux.haun.org/images/nvidiaSentinel.jpg.. Couldnt find the picture in englis, but it basically just says "The Nvidia System Sentinel has detected your graphics card is not recieving sufficient power and has lowered its performance to reduce risk of damage to the card"...

The system specs are:

Pentium 4 3.0Ghz
1024Mb Corsair Value Select DDR 400
Gigabyte 8SS61 (i think)
500W power supply
a 80Gb Western Digital IDE HDD
a 80gb Seagate IDE HDD
a 80gb Maxtor IDE HDD.
and a LG DVD RAM Burner.

i have 5 thermaltake fans, all speed controllable.

1 on the cpu, 4 on the case.

Have tried running it with no fans, except for CPU fan. Havent bothered removing the CPU fan cause the power problem was there months before it.

Sorry for such a long reply.

Souluna

Hey Soluna,

Not too long at all. I am concerned that this may in fact be a malware infection. It certainly isn't because your PSU is insufficient. Can you please follow the PreWork in my signature and post back with the resulting three logs?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

I can't try the Hijack this log atm. but im doubtful its malware, i have tried around 7 or 8 reformats. All that gets installed is the latest nvidia drivers. I have had it looked at buy a hardware tech and he thinks that one or all three of my harddrives are drawing too much power. Will test it over the next day or two and repost the hijack this log.

Hey Souluna,

That would be a very strange situation indeed. Please do not just post an HJT log, follow the PreWork instructions, it will give us a good deal more information. Thanks,

Looking forward to your reply,
