I just bought a GeForce FX 5500 256MB graphics card today, I followed all of the right directions and installed the drivers and such, but I can't get it to work. I plugged my monitor back into the plug-in on the motherboard and my pc worked fine. Then when I plug it into the new card on the PCI slot, half the screen goes black, and the other side(right) is white. I've never seen this happen before. Help me pleassse lol anyone?

Welcome to PCHF. We have a wonderful team of techs here, and I feel certain that we will be able to help you get this new Vid Card running perfectly.

First of all, when you plugged your monitor into your new graphics card, did you remember to change the graphics settings in BIOS? You do not want the PC to be looking for the onboard graphics.

If you post us your PC make and model, we may be able to get you a screen shot of where to change the settings in your BIOS if you are unsure.
