Default am I PCI-E compatible??

Hello All,
I need a new graphics card so I can play NWN 2. The specs call for an ATI 9700 Pro or nVidia 6600 or "Better". I'm running an emachines W3052 with an AMD Sempron 3000. I can find the cards I need at Best Buy, but all I'm finding are PCI-E. I'm only set up for AGP, since AMD seems to be running behind. I want to go as cheap as possible, what card should I be looking for? I found a GE Force 7600 GS 512MB that I would like, but I only see it in PCI-E. Is it available in AGP? Any help would be great.

I also want to boost my memory if I can. I'd like to increase the 512, is that possible?

THanks,
Jeff

most new, quality AMD motherboards and intel ones too, use PCI express 16 graphics slots. If you have AGP8x slot, or even 4x Slot, then try this. very good graphics card for the price. PNY - Verto GeForce 7600 GS Graphics Card - VCG76512SAPB

as for RAM, try this. you can upgrade your RAM up to 2Gigs. but you dont really need that. . your PC should have 512 already, so this will boost it to 1 gig Corsair - Value Select 512MB PC3200 DDR DIMM Memory - VS512MB400

Hi Jeff, welcome to the site.

AW is correct - any new motherboard from both AMD and Intel now have PCI-E...unfortunately the setup you got (the sempron) was designed to be an ultimate budget machine, so the motherboard manufacturers didn't bother to include the PCI-e, and just left it to AGP, as the older cards would be cheaper.

Any new motherboard released generally has 1 16x PCI-e and 1 or 2 1x PCI-e.
