ok so i have an ASUS A8n-SLI mobo and twin evga geforce 6800gs cards the problem is that i dont think they are working together. i cant even see if its working in the nvidia control pannell, it just wont let me. i tried going to the nvidia control pannel and selecting the Enable SLI function but there isnt even a select option where there should be. it just says are you ready for SLI? and theres a link to nvidia web site.

i know there is power to both GPU's cuz both fans are spinning, and i turned on the SLI function in the BIOS, i even tried downloading new drivers. im just not seeing a preformance increase in my framerates. if anyone out there knows anything about this garbage your help would be most welcome. thanks for listning to my rant.

Hey Dr. O,

A big welcome to the forums from me. I tend to start with the basics as they are usually overlooked.

I am curious as to whether you have tested the cards individually. Are they both working properly?

Have you reseated both cards?

Have you checked all of the cables?

Are you getting these options in your Nvidia Control Panel?

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

In addition to LGW's questions - make sure the bridge between the top of the cards is connected securely attached to both video cards.
Also - that motherboard has a card on the board between the 2 pci-e x16 slots...make sure that is set so the "dual" text side is plugged into the motherboard.

Hey Guys,

@Dr. O, by reseated, I mean that you have removed them and reseated them, even though cards feel solid, sometimes the pins just didn't connect quite right. The same goes for cables etc.

If you can't get to that section of the Nvidia Control Panel, completely uninstall the drivers and reinstall from the Nvidia website.

Also, are the cards new to the board, or is everything new? I am wondering whether or not you had other graphics drivers installed before these.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Default thanks..but....

how exactly do i go about uninstaling the old drivers. also wich ones should i re-install, im asking because i have older graphics cards and i was told the latest drivers may not be the best.

everything in my system was purchaced by me about 1 year ago. recently i purchaced the second card from a friend of mine. it worked fine in his system and i know he didnt overclock it.

something interesting.... my monitor wont work if i plug it into the ports on the second graphics card. is this normal?

thank you for all your valubale time.
