Most games have inbuilt fps - but a good one to use is FRAPS
FRAPS show fps, record video game movies, screen capture software

Thanks Garhar, FRAPS is nice program I had never heard of before. By the way how can you tell or where can I check if a game has inbuilt FPS? Any other good ones out there that record gameplay?
