A month or two ago I posted about my x850 getting about 8-20fps and nothing higher. I got sick of the lagginess, so I bought an Nvidea 7950GT, but the problem is still there. I just cant get above 30fps, nomatter what graphic setting is turned on or how many system processes are running. I have no idea if this is the drivers fault, or if i dont have a new version of direct x, or if it has to do with the hardware in my pc.
Is there anything that i can do to find out whats wrong?

Battlefield 2
Battlefield 2142
FEAR
Counter Strike Source
Day of Defeat Source(Especially 5-9 fps)

A system like that should not be getting such low scores...i'd suggest you have something running in the background that shouldn't be there.

can you please follow the prework link in my signiture and post the resulting logs back here? One of the security team will be able to look over the logs and see if there's any nasties there.

hav u tired playin the game without overclockin ur graphics card?

Sorry for replying so late but I should've been much more specific.
I don't think it has to do with viruses or anything because i recently reinstalled windows. I havn't overclocked my graphics card yet, and I just got it.
When I try to install the newest directx 9 it says "A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic services are enabled and the cabinet file certificate is valed."
It also says the same for when I try to download some drivers for my 7950gt.
I have noticed that when I first join games on the source engine or any other game that can check fps such as css or dod:s that my framerate seems normal(around 40-60), then quickly goes down to a 10-25 fps within a second or so. I can also only enable settings to be 2x or 4x Anti Aliasing, and the only resolution I can choose in games or on my desktop that is a 16:10 ratio is 1650 x 1050. My old x850 allowed me to choose about 5 or 6 settings for 16:10. I just find that kind of weird that on a specialized "HD" card, that I cant choose anything above or below 1650x 1050.
