Question [Answered] Hp F1503 monitor, win98

Ok i have a Hp f1503 monitor and i'm running win98 on a HP pavilion 6336 i just reinstalled win98 and it wont let change the screen resolution it's stuck and i'm pretty sure it a drive problem. i went to the HP help site and down loaded the driver/software pack for that monitor, but still nothing. so it has to be something i'm missing... Any ideas!???

Thanks for your time!
Pat

Hello Pumpkin
Is your graphics setup onboard or a card?

Looked up on the Hp website and it has got the SiS 5598 chipset which is onboard wolfeymole. there doesnt appear to be any drivers for that on the site though.

How are you trying to change the resolution?

yeah it's def. an onboard setup... I'm just right clicking on the desktop, then to properties, then the setting tab, right where it says screen resolution.I think i may have said it wrong, i went the HP site and found software for the monitor not drivers for the PC itself...sorry... I think it's stuck at something like 640 x 480... It worked before the reinstall all the way up tp 1024 x 768, which is what i had it set at before, i know win98 dosn't have the right drivers at first (or so i'm told).

And another thing i just thought of... at random it says primary graphics adaptor is configured wrong... that could be something...
