Default Fan Problems
my parents have a Gateway 832G with a Pentium 4 630, and we recently bought a PCIe16 Graphics card from best buy, a BFG Geforce 6600GT OC with 512VRAM. after awhile, the fan started makingn horrible shaking noises, and evenrtually it stopped, but whenever my mom goes to play Rollercoaster tycoon 3, it automatically restarts the computer after a few minuts. is the fan dead and the card overheating or what? PLease help! It os past its replacement from besat buy! HELP!

You can take the side cover off and check to see if the fans running, but it sounds like it died on you, or maybe a wire or something has the fan jammed. Maybe double check the installation.The shutting down and restarting sounds like an overheating problem. Those cards get hot pretty quick running games. I would definitely take it back before its too late.

yeah its teh fan. dead. teh bearings are shot. thanks for teh help. dad is going to get a new fan and heatsync
