Unhappy !! Monitor GOES BLANK AFTER WINDOWS Logo Since New Video Card Install!!

I'm running Windows XP SP2 Media Center Edition 2005. I recently installed BFG GeForce 7600 GT OC and once the drivers finished installing my Monitor went into standby mode and the screen was blank. I could tell that my PC was still running and my keyboard was still active. After rebooting the Window logo comes up and then the screen goes blank. I was able to boot up in Safe Mode and uninstall the Nvidia drivers and then the PC booted normally. I used the latest drivers from Nvidia and I flashed the bios. I have Intel 945G mobo and it has intergrated video. In my Bios the video selection says PCI-E card, other than that I don't see any other settings to change. My old video card worked in that slot and it was ATi Radeon X300 SE. I upgraded my power supply from the 288W that came with PC to a 400watt Antec. I have been struggling with this for 2 days now any help would be appreciated.

How can I tell what refresh rate the card is trying to run? I know the old ATI cards was running at 60 hertz before the install. Now I get the default monitor rate with no way to change it. Thanks for the response.

Hi cbrown, welcome to the PCHF!

It sounds like you're trying to install some corrupt drivers.
Boot into safe mode, clear off all the drivers from your previous video card and the current video card. And also uninstall your chipset drivers.

Once this is complete, reinstall your chipset drivers, and then proceed to install the video card drivers from here....The Guru of 3D Download Section

Restart computer, and see what happens.
