Default GFX Card Choice, problems.

Hello again. Hope you are all well.
Since my last problem with my new hard drive was fixed, I'm now having a little trouble playing BF2, on that same HD.
Before I stuck in my new HD I used to run BF2 on max detail settings, but with AA and the other one turned off, and it ran really nice and playable, never tested but around 60fps. Since I reinstalled it on my new drive however, I have to put settings on medium, which TBH looks naff, and it also runs pretty laggy on these settings. Could there be a reason for this? I'm just in the process of re-installing it on my original HD with my OS on, to see if I can go back to how it was.
Anyway, thats my problem, this is my question:
At the mo I have a Nvidia 6600gt agp. Would buying a NVIDIA BFG Geforce 6800 ULTRA 256MB make a massive difference, (its £122 on ebay with 30 mins left)? Or should I leave it, and eventually upgrade the whole shebang to PCI-E?

Any input appreciated.

Thanks again

I'd say hold out until you upgrade
Especially since DirectX 10 is coming out soon.

What are the specs on the 2 different hard drives?

Yeah, you are probably right GaRHaR, it's just me and my impulse buys. Thanks for saving me.
The HDs are:
C: Hitachi Deskstar - OS drive. (60 GB, 7200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/100)
F: Seagate Barracuda - SCSI Disk Device (149 GB, 7200 RPM. SATA)
Taken these values from Everest.

Lol, you think your impulses are bad? I have 4gb of RAM because i was bored and had spare cash and memory slots...

i have 5 perfectly fine working keyboards in my room, because i get bored with them after 5 months
I'm surprised i've had my G15 for so long actually

Anyway...Your Seagate Barracuda can't be SCSI, and 7200rpm...SCSI has a minimum of 10,000rpm.

Which is the one causing you problems?

The Seagate Barracuda is the one causing probs.
It says 7200 on the drive itself, but is listed as SCSI on actual Windows programs like Everest, and Device Manager.
The actual model number for it is: ST3160828AS

By the way, it sounds like you have more money than sense my friend! The RAM I can kinda understand.....but Keyboards!!! LOL

googled model number-- everything points to SATA, not SCSI. FYI

I know seagate have a tool to test the integrity of the hard drive...i'll see if i can find that for you to run on the new drive to make sure it's fine....i've never had that kind of problems with a seagate before.

And yes...more money then sense is definatly the case
I originally bought a nice keyboard...really nice keys, simple...worked great.
Then i got bored of it because it didn't match my case, so i went out and bought a cordless logitech keyboard which had multimedia buttons...then i thought i'd get a natural keyboard, and went and bought one...but the key buffer wasn't good enough - could only hold down 3 keys at a time before it would beep and give me errors...so i went and bought another wireless keyboard, but a wireless natural...i spilt apple juice all over it and it died...then i bought a normal corded multimedia keyboard...and now i have a G15....this has all been in about...a year...
