If there is no other choice but buying a new mother board can you look for one that is compatible with my computer which allows a good graphics card. Thank you so much

Hi CsOwnage...

I was incorrect as to your type of computer, and there is the option for you to get a new video card without the motherboard.

However, your motherboard is only a AGP 4 speed slot, AGP got to 8x before it was removed.

So, there is a couple of options for you now...
I would strongly recommend an ATI card...purely because of the excellent image quality.

The cards i would suggest (i'm not sure of the prices in America) but a 7800GS (which is the fastest nvidia card for AGP you can get)

And perhaps an 1600 from ATI...

You just need to make sure you buy an AGP card, and not a PCI-e

If you get to the point of having a choice between 2 cards, come back and ask - we'll gladly give pros/cons for each

That is a very decent card, and since your motherboard only has AGP4x I wouldn't spend more money and get a faster card then that.

But this would also be a good option I think:

Ok i think i am going to buy the one that i previously posted. I looked at the pros and cons of the one that joe posted and it said that it ran hot. My computer is stock so i dont want the card to burn out. Lastly how do i know which slot is the AGP one and which is the PCI one

The AGP slot is brown and the PCI slots are white.

Hi CsOwnage.

I'd personally go for the x800 that Joe recommended...ATI have better image quality then nVidia.

But other then that, they're pretty much identicle cards.
